Rylen Runs!!!
September 29, 2011 was a super busy day for me. I was trying to do housework, laundry, get in some schoolwork and keep up with my 1 year old son, Rylen. Keeping up with Rylen is not an easy thing to do. He is a very quick crawler and can walk with the furniture and is into everything. We also had to be at the doctors office at 2:20 for his 1 year check up and shots. We went to the doctors office and my mother-in-law, Shirley, met us there to help because Rylen is a very strong and wild child. I definitely needed help to hold him down for the five shots he got. He cried, of course, during the shots, but only for a minute or so after it was done. We left and Shirley took Rylen with her because I had to meet someone back at home to take care of something for the house. Shirley calls me about 5:05 that day to tell me that my baby, Rylen walked all by himself for the first time. Well, I immediately started crying because I wasn't there and walking is such an accomplishment for us both. So I waited on my fiance to get home and we rushed over to Shirley's house. As soon as he saw me he started walking, rather running, towards me and I recorded it on my phone and started screaming and crying. I couldn't control myself, I was and am such a proud mama and so very excited for him. He was all smiles and I could see how proud he was of himself.

My Baby's 1st Birthday!!!
Friday, September 23, 2010, was my son, Rylen's, 1st Birthday! This past year has crazily flown by. It seemed like a lifetime when I was pregnant and huge! On friday, I was super busy trying to keep the house clean and finish some last minute shopping for the party that was on Saturday. Friday night my sister, Baylee, came over to help me finish getting everything ready. I definitely couldn't have done it without her. We had to prepare all the food and get everything packed up and ready to take to the park, where we were having Rylen's party. I didn't make it to bed until almost 4 am and woke about 7:30. I was already exhausted and still had a huge list of things to do before noon. I finished getting everything cooked and ready to go and then got ready. I left Rylen with my fiance, Allen, so I could pick up balloons, cake, and ice cream. Baylee, Allen, and Rylen met us at the park to set up all the decorations and put out the food. Thankfully, after running around crazy for two days straight, we got everything set up and ready in time for when the guests' arrived. Rylen had an amazing 1st birthday and recieved a lot of awesome presents. Everyone had a great time and the kids loved their party bags and favors!! We were all exhausted by the time we loaded everything up and made it back home. Rylen was tuckered out, full, and happy and was passed out way before we made it home. So, while he was sleeping, we got to open up and play with all his new toys!! We are so very blessed to have great family and friends to have shared Rylen's special day with!

In January I was....
In Januray I was a very busy and new mom!! I was juggling a full-time job, a 3-month old son, a fiance, 3 dogs, and a home. Life was not easy. I was working as a phlebotomist Monday through Friday, 8-5. Unfortunately, I didn't get to spend as much time as I would have like to with my son. We were together at night long enough for me to feed him, bathe him, feed him again, and put him to sleep. That took most of my energy, but I still tried to do housework and laundry as best as I could. Which was not very well, I was completely exhausted all the time. On top of that I was in the middle of planning a baby shower for my then co-worker. So, January was a busy and stressful month especially since we had just got over all of the holidays. We were completely broke, cold, and tired!!!! Here's to January!!!!

The Fair
Saturday, September 10, 2011 we took our son, Rylen, to the fair for the 1st time. I think I was more excited than he was. We arrived about 5:30 and I just couldn't wait to see the expression on his face when he saw all the excitement going on. My sister-in-law, Leanna, and her son Braylen, also came with us. We walked in and you could see the amazement on my sons face, he didn't know which way to look first! Rylen is just under a year old so I couldn't take him on many rides, but he got to ride the carousel and a mini coaster and the big fun slide!! Of course, I went with him everytime and we had an amazing time!! He is definitely a dare devil and loves anything loud or fast, so he really enjoyed everything! I was ready for it to get dark so he could see everything lit up and I think he loved that part too! We also took him to see all the animals at the mini petting zoo and he had no problem grabbing at all the animals. We spent a fortune but to see the enjoyment on my babys' face was priceless!!

Sometimes I feel like a...
Sometimes I feel like screaming!!! Everytime my husband and I think we are catching up with life, we get thrown another curve ball. We get caught up with bills and something goes wrong with our car or one of our dogs needs to go to the vet. Life!! It's always something new, but I guess that's what makes it so interesting and unpredictable. If we knew everything that was going to happen every day, we would be some boring people and so very predictable. Even though we all complain about the unexpected occurences of every day life, I actually enjoy the unpredictableness of life. It's not all bad. The best news I ever recieved was a total surprise. On January 31, 2010 I found out I was pregnant. I was definitely scared and very concerned with how we were going to afford a baby. Well, my son, Rylen, is almost a year old and I wouldn't change it for the world. He is happy, healthy, and we found a way to support him just fine. We are very proud parents and so far, I think we've done a great job raising him!
